Privacy Policy
Sanare understands the importance of maintaining the privacy of your personal information. For that reason, Sanare adopted this Privacy Policy to inform you what information Sanare collects about you, how it uses that information, and what choices you have in these important matters. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. Your use of the Brightsky website constitutes your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this Policy.
What Information Does Sanare Gather and How Does Sanare Use This Information?
A. Non–personal Information
Cookies
Cookies are small data files that Sanare places on the hard drive of your computer to optimize your use of the Brightsky website. For example, we use cookies to facilitate our login processes, to aid in navigation of the website, to time visits to the website, and to log you off the website automatically after a period of inactivity. Sanare may also use cookies to collect information about you. The information Sanare gathers through cookies is non–personal information. This information cannot be traced back to you and cannot be used to identify you. Sanare will use any information it gathers from cookies only for such internal purposes as improving the Brightsky website. For example, cookies enable us to collect information about usage of the website, to determine the size of our audience, and to help us improve the site by measuring which areas are of greatest interest to users. You may set your computer not to receive these cookies, but doing so will impair your enjoyment and use of the Brightsky website.
Analytics
Under a contractual arrangement with Sanare, Googles Analytics will paste an analytics snippet, a small piece of JavaScript code, into the pages of the Brightsky website to gather information. Similar to Sanare's use of cookies, the sole purpose for allowing Google Analytics to gather information is to enable them to analyze and better understand traffic patterns on Brightsky.com. Sanare will then use these analyses to adjust the content of Brightsky.com to serve your needs and interests better. The information that Sanare allows Google Analytics to gather is non–personal information. This information cannot be traced back to you and cannot be used to identify you.
B. Personal Information
As is described in greater detail below, the only personal information that Sanare gathers on you is information that you elect to provide to Sanare or that you specifically authorize a third–party (such as a caregiver, family member, or physician) to provide about you. Sanare will not disclose your personal information to any person or organization except as is set forth below.
Registration
When you register with Brightsky.com, you provide Sanare requested information about yourself on the Registration Form. Sanare will not disclose this information to anyone without your specific authorization and then only to your designated physician(s), insurance carrier(s), caregiver(s), insurance carrier(s), or family member(s). (If at any time you wish to change your registration information, follow the instructions below under "Removing or Changing Personal Information.")
In addition, at the time you register, you have the opportunity to indicate your desire to receive email notifications that Sanare from time–to–time will distribute to registered users about such things as products, news, health tips, and services of interest to persons with diabetes. If at any time you wish to add your name so that you will receive these emails, you may do so by logging into the website, going under "My Account," and indicating on the Registration Form your desire to be included. (If at any time you wish to stop receiving these emails, follow the instructions below under "Removing or Changing Personal Information.")
Brightsky.com's Interactive and Monitoring Tools
The Brightsky website includes certain tools and features that enable you and others whom you specifically authorize (such as your designated physician(s), insurance carrier(s), caregiver(s), insurance carrier(s), or family member(s), all of which are hereafter referred to as "your agent") to enter, change, and access personal information about you. Some of these features enable you or your agent to monitor and better manage your diabetes. By design, some of this information will remain and be stored on the website either to assure proper operation of the feature or to enable you or your agent to compare your information over time. If you choose to use any tool or feature that requires retention of your personal information, you must indicate your specific permission by checking a box on the Registration Form that makes clear your authorization for the storage of this information. Only you and your agent will have access to this information. You may cancel Sanare's retention of this information and, consequently, of your use of the website's related interactive and/or monitoring tools, at any time by contacting Sanare. If you wish to authorize one or more agents to enter, change, and access your personal information, you must provide requested information about your agent(s) on the Registration Form. (If at any time you wish to withdraw your authorization of your agent's access or change or add an agent, follow the instructions below under "Removing or Changing Personal Information.")
Community, Social Media, and Other Public Forums
Certain features of Brightsky.com enable you to share personal information with experts, with others who have interests similar to yours, and, in certain cases, with the general public. These features may even enable you or others who view the information to post the information on websites beyond the purview of Sanare. These features are, by design, public. Accordingly, you should exercise care in posting personal information in these areas. Sanare endeavors to protect the privacy only of the information you enter on the Registration Form and in the areas of Brightsky.com that require registration. Sanare has no control over information you post in other places, such as the community, social media, or other public forums areas of Brightsky.com or any other website. You should post in these areas only such personal information as you are willing to place in the public domain. Anything you post in such places is potentially viewable and useable for any purpose by third parties. Sanare has no control over these third parties and the use they may make of your personal information. Do not post any information in the community, social media, or other public forum areas of the website that you do not intend to make public.
Emails You Send to Sanare
Information included in an email that you send to Sanare is not covered by this Privacy Policy. Disclosures to Sanare Employees and Contractors
At times designated Sanare employees and contractors may have access to your personal information in the course of performing their jobs. Sanare will endeavor to limit any such access to the information reasonably necessary for these persons to perform their jobs. Internal rules applying to Sanare employees and all contracts with third–party contractors will include provisions to protect the privacy of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and to make clear that persons with access to your personal information may use or disclose it only as is necessary either to perform their jobs or fulfill the terms of their contract with Sanare or as is required by law.
